ContractorVerify exists to make contractor license verification accessible via API. Every platform that works with contractors - marketplaces, property managers, insurers, GCs - needs to verify licenses. Today, that process is manual, fragmented, and unreliable. We are changing that with a single REST endpoint that returns structured, real-time license data.

// The Problem

There are 50 state licensing boards in the US, each with its own website, data format, and lookup process. Some have searchable databases. Some require PDF downloads. A few still rely on phone calls.

For any platform that needs to verify contractor credentials at scale, this fragmentation is a nightmare. Engineering teams spend months building and maintaining scrapers for just a handful of states - and those scrapers break every time a state board redesigns their site.

The result: most platforms either skip license verification entirely or do it manually - checking one contractor at a time on state websites. Neither approach scales. Neither is reliable.
